After a few minutes, you’ll be led to a page with a “tell us about yourself” box, which you should ignore (you can answer it if you want, but it won’t help you install WordPress).
After that, go to the Marketplace tab.
Simply scroll down until you see the big blue “one-click installs” icon, and then click it!
Then simply select “WordPress,” which is conveniently positioned at the top of the page.
Then just select your domain and click that next button.
This will take you to a little settings form where you can fill out all of the information, agree to the terms of service by checking the box, and then click the install button.
Once WordPress is installed, make a copy of your installation information and put it somewhere secure because you’ll need that information/ridiculous password to log into WordPress (and change that password to something much more reasonable).
Now, if you open a new tab and navigate to your domain name, you should see something like this:
Why? Because your domain name must “promote” – that is, HostGator must inform the world about your new domain name so that anyone (including you) can access it via the internet.
According to HG, the process can take up to 24 hours, which is technically correct…
