A lot has changed in our daily lives since the Covid 19 became the new normal. We’ve grown accustomed to working from home and spending hours on group calls using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meets, Cisco Webex, and other platforms.

For those of us who find wearing earbuds for lengthy periods of time unpleasant, this has created a new challenge. Keeping this in mind, Sony has developed the SRS-NB10 Wireless Neckband, which is a new and fascinating product that is designed to be comfortable for long-term use. Is it really worth it to get the SRS-NB10 Wireless Neckband? Let’s see what we can find out!
Unboxing of the Sony SRS-NB10 Wireless Neckband
Sony hasn’t tried anything out-of-the-box. The neckband is packaged in eco-friendly packaging with a charging wire and some literature.
Design & Comfort
The SRS-NB10 is unlike any other audio device we’ve seen before. It’s designed to be worn around the neck, as the name suggests. The neckband earphones appear to be the inspiration, but the earbuds have been replaced by speakers. The neckband is primarily formed of rubberized material, with speakers petitioned on each side, pointing at the ears.
A toggle switch on the right side allows you to turn the microphone on or off. On the left side, there are volume controls and a function key that can perform a variety of tasks.
Despite this, Sony has managed to reduce the weight to a minimum, at only 113g. This assures that even if you use it for lengthy periods of time, it will not create neck pain. This solves the problem of sensitive ears being irritated by earphones or earbuds. For extended calls, these are quite comfortable.
Sound and Calling with the Sony SRS-NB10 Wireless Neckband
Let us begin with the latter. When it comes to calling quality, the Sony neckband is unrivaled. It includes two good microphones that can be used for beamforming. This means that the SRS-NB10 microphones can pick up your voice from any angle and adjust their settings to achieve a better outcome. I tied making calls from a mobile phone, laptops, and a SmartTV together to test the calling capabilities of this unique Sony device. Every time, the NB10 performs admirably since it is able to catch every syllable with ease.

Another feature that pleased me was the device’s robust Bluetooth connectivity. I was able to roam around my house without losing connectivity after I was connected. Its multi-point connectivity features are noteworthy since I am able to seamlessly swap between phones.
In terms of audio quality, the SRS-NB10 is neither good nor awful. Rather than auditory fidelity, the major focus here is on comfort and convenience. It directs everything towards your ears while playing music. It’s loud enough to draw your coworker’s attention. The sound is crisp and clear, but it lacks rumbling, which bass fans will be disappointed with. Read also; Sony SRS-NB10, SRS-NS7 Wireless Neckband Speakers
Battery and other features of the Sony SRS-NB10 Wireless Neckband

The neckband is supposed to last 20 hours, which is about right. It can be charged using a USB Type C cable, which is included in the box. Because of the fast charging capability, I was able to recharge the battery for nearly an hour in just ten minutes.
The SRS-NB10 Wireless neckband is IPX4 certified, which means it can tolerate minor splashes of water. Read more; Sony SRS-NS7 wireless neckband speaker
Verdict
Sony has created a one-of-a-kind product that is unlike anything else on the Indian market. Anyone who has to listen to long phone calls or meetings and has sensitive ears will appreciate the convenience and value. It’s a good buy for Rs 11,990 for individuals who spend hours on the phone practically every day.
However, if you’re looking for a more nuanced music listening experience, the neckband will suffice, but it won’t provide the same degree of fidelity as similarly priced wireless earphones.
