Apple has announced the launch date for its all-new 13-inch M2-powered MacBook Pro. The device was unveiled at Apple’s recent Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), where the company also unveiled the latest generation of its in-house Mac processor, the Apple M2. The new chip can also be found in the latest MacBook Air, which was also unveiled at the same event as the new MacBook Pro. The latest MacBook Pro and MacBook Air not only share many design and hardware similarities, but they are also reasonably priced. Read also; MacBook Pro 2022: What We Know So Far
Despite rumours that Apple would unveil several new products at the WWDC, the two new MacBooks were the only pieces of hardware revealed at the event. However, as expected, there were numerous software announcements as the company previewed the latest versions of many of its operating systems. Apple not only announced iOS 16 and iPadOS 16, which will be rolled out to compatible devices this fall, but also took the wraps off watchOS 9, which includes a tonne of new fitness-related updates. Also new is macOS Ventura, which gets many new productivity features.
The updated 13-inch MacBook Pro with M2 will be available for pre-order on Friday, June 17, at 5 a.m. PT (8 a.m. ET). The device will be available for purchase via a variety of channels, including apple.com, the Apple Store app, and Apple Authorized Resellers. Customers will start receiving their new MacBook Pro a week later, from Friday, June 24. The device is available in silver and space grey, and the base model costs $1,299 USD. Apple is also offering three percent cash back to customers who buy directly from the company with Apple Card. In addition, buyers paying with Apple Card are also eligible for interest-free monthly installments.

New M2 MacBook Pro Brings Back The Touch Bar
The 13-inch MacBook Pro is powered by Apple’s new M2 chip and can be customized with up to 24GB of RAM and up to 2TB of storage. It also has a 13.3-inch Retina display and a battery that Apple claims will last up to 20 hours on a single charge. The new MacBook Pro also includes a Touch Bar, which is not found on most other recent MacBook models.
It’s worth noting that, despite the ‘Pro’ moniker, the new 13-inch MacBook Pro lacks at least one feature found in the cheaper MacBook Air — MagSafe charging. Apple has not officially stated when pre-orders for the new M2-powered MacBook Air will be available, but a listing on the company’s website suggests that it will happen sometime next month.
