It’s possible that the first Snapdragon W5 smartwatch may appear sooner than expected and will include a second chip in addition to other intriguing features.
The Oppo Watch 3 will be the first smartwatch to use the new Snapdragon W5 chipset, and more information, including a potential launch date, has recently leaked. One of the largest tech businesses in China is Oppo, but unlike Xiaomi and Huawei, who have both been producing smartwatches and fitness trackers for many years, Oppo only entered the wearable market in 2020.

In March 2020, the Oppo Watch, the company’s first smartwatch, was introduced. The Oppo Watch RX, a smartwatch with a circular dial, was introduced that same year. The second smartwatch, however, was never released, and Oppo never offered an explanation. Interestingly, the OnePlus Watch had a round display when it was unveiled in March 2021.
When Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon W5 series, it said Oppo would be the first to introduce a smartwatch using the new chip. It also stated that the watch would be presented in August without providing a precise date. The launch date for the wearable has now been revealed by news from China, where the smartwatch is most likely to be unveiled first. Digital Chat Station said on Weibo that the Oppo Watch 3 series would go on sale on August 10. The leaker supplied several other data in addition to the date. The Oppo Watch 3 Will Have ECG
According to Digital Chat Station, other chipsets will be in the Oppo Watch 3 series besides the Snapdragon W5. The new smartwatch will use a co-processor called the Apollo 4 Plus, just like the Oppo Watch 2. Similar to the QCC5100 co-processor Qualcomm has paired with the Snapdragon W5+, the Ambiq chip is low-power. Details on Ambiq’s website indicate that the SoC has a built-in GPU and a speedy display driver. This should make it possible to run the display while tracking activities or performing other low-power operations. The Apollo 4 Plus could be the chip driving the RTOS because Oppo employs a dual OS strategy (Android + RTOS). Read More; How To Use Google Assistant On The Galaxy Watch 4
