We thought the Oculus Quest 3 would come out this year, but there haven’t been any new rumors or leaks to make us question that.
Even though it’s now called the Meta Quest instead of the Oculus Quest 2, the Oculus Quest 2 is still the best VR headset you can buy right now, and Meta doesn’t have much competition to force them to make a new headset right away.

So, here is what we think we know about Meta Quest 3.
Meta Quest 3 Release Date
Rumors and leaks are still fairly quiet on the Meta Quest 3 front.
Meta, the parent corporation of Facebook, has been working extensively on VR prototypes, which suggests Meta is also considering new VR devices. However, the Quest 2 is still relatively new and has little competition, so Meta can afford to take its time. As a result, we would advise caution when forecasting that a new Quest headset will be released this year; 2023 is probably a better bet.

Meta Quest 3 Price
Recently, a price increase for the Meta Quest 2 was revealed. Starting on August 1, the 128GB version will cost $399, and the 256GB version will cost $499. Both have seen excellent sales, although Meta claimed the price increase was necessary due to escalating costs. Fortunately, you can still get several versions at the lower current price points. We can only hope that the Meta Quest 3 will be priced at the same level as the Quest 2 at most. It’s unclear if that will be the case, though, given that the Quest 2 recently saw a price increase and the Meta Quest Pro is now rumored to cost $1,500.
Meta Quest 3 Specs and Rumors
We anticipate that the Meta Quest 3’s display will run at 120 hertz by default. The Quest 2 can now handle 120Hz refresh rates however, to hit that goal, programs must upscale content. It would be very appreciated if a VR headset had a quick refresh rate right out of the box, especially for individuals who are prone to motion sickness when wearing a VR headset. The Quest 3 will utilize uOLED displays, while the Cambria will employ mini-LED technology, according to VR analyst Brad Lynch(opens in new tab). The Quest 3 is anticipated to have a resolution of 4,128 by 2,208 pixels or 2,064 by 2,208 pixels for each eye. This is a 30% improvement over the Meta Quest 2’s 1,920 by 1,832 pixel per eye resolution.
In addition, we can hope for an improved chipset, perhaps from Qualcomm. This Qualcomm chip might be made of unique silicon.

Meta Quest 3 Outlook
Because the Meta Quest 2 was a success, the Meta Quest 3 can be easily improved and have a winner. We would prefer it if it advanced both the hardware and software fronts.
Virtual reality is still a new field with a specialized appeal. The realm of virtual reality might become more widely accepted if Meta provides an all-in-one VR device that can deliver really immersive virtual experiences. That should provide us with more games and apps to satisfy our ravenous hands and eyes. Read Also; Meta Desires The Virtual Landscape Sound Realistic.
