The iPhone 14 Pro is expected to come out this fall and take the place of the iPhone 13 Pro. It will have some exciting new features. Leaks and rumors suggest that the new Pro iPhones will have many of the same features as last year’s models, such as 120Hz displays and telephoto cameras. However, there is likely to be a lot more in store.
We’re worried that the standard iPhone 14 will be boring, but the iPhone 14 Pro could get a new punch-hole design, much better cameras, a screen that stays on all the time, and more. Unfortunately, that may come with the highest starting prices for an iPhone, so if you want to buy one, you should save up first.

It will still be a while before the Apple September Event (which we hear could be September 13). So far, we’ve put together all the rumors we’ve heard about the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro to compare them.
This guide should help you figure out what to do if you want to upgrade your iPhone 13 Pro, don’t know which model to buy once both are available, or want to know how Apple could keep its top spot on our list of best phones.
iPhone 14 Pro vs. iPhone 13 Pro: Price
The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are already pretty pricey phones at $999/£949 and $1,099/£1,049. But unfortunately, and not surprisingly, multiple sources say there are rumors of a $100 price increase for both Pro phones.
Once the iPhone 14 comes out, Apple will likely stop selling the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. This is what happened with the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro in the past. Even after they’re no longer made, you might still be able to buy an iPhone 13 Pro from a third-party store or a cell phone provider for a while.
iPhone 14 Pro vs. iPhone 13 Pro: Design
The iPhone 14 Pro rumors say that the most obvious change from the iPhone 13 Pro will be that the front notch will get replaced with separate cut-outs for the selfie camera and the Face ID sensors.
You can see how this might look in the renders on this page or in these pictures, which are said to be of the display panels for the iPhone 14 series. The iPhone 13 series is the first one since the iPhone X to shrink the size of the Face ID notch. The new pill-and-punch-hole cutout design would give back more screen space to actual pixels, making it less annoying when using an app in fullscreen mode. Instead of a USB-C port, the iPhone 14 Pro should still have a Lightning port for charging and data transfer. This could change next year, though, because the law in the EU has changed, and people in the U.S. want the same thing.
The only interesting color rumor is that this year’s unique iPhone color could be purple, and the Pro models could have a matte finish. If not, we’ll probably see silver, gray, and gold again, with a new color coming around the middle of 2024, just like Apple did with the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13.
iPhone 14 Pro vs. iPhone 13 Pro: Display
Once again, we should see the Pro iPhone feature a 6.1-inch display this year, and the Pro Max version sport a 6.7-inch display. This may be misleading, though, because the screens may be just a little bit bigger than the iPhone 13 Pro/Pro Max because the bezels are smaller.
The iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max are the first iPhones to have ProMotion adaptive 120Hz displays. This means that the display is both smoother and uses less power. According to rumors, the iPhone 14 Pro might have a better version of this technology that can scale down to 1Hz instead of 10Hz.
Not only would that save power, but it would also make it possible for Apple to add the rumored always-on display to the iPhone 14 Pro. This, it seems, will let you see widgets on your phone even when it’s locked, like the ones you can add to your lock screen in iOS 16. This will make it easy to see updates at a glance.
iPhone 14 Pro vs. iPhone 13 Pro: Cameras
All four cameras on the iPhone 13 Pro had 12MP sensors, but the main camera on the iPhone 14 Pro is said to have a 48MP sensor for higher resolution or brighter pictures, depending on how Apple tunes it. The iPhone 14 Pro could also record 8K video, which would be a first for Apple.

The ultrawide camera and the telephoto lens on the back of the iPhone 14 Pro series seem to be the same as on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Apple’s long-awaited first periscope camera doesn’t seem to be ready yet, so it will probably be another year or two before we see an iPhone that can zoom more than 3 times. The iPhone 14 Pro could get a better selfie camera with autofocus and a larger aperture on the front. These should make your selfies brighter and clearer.
Chip and Performance
The iPhone 14 Pro should have a new A16 Bionic chipset, which is an upgrade from the iPhone 13 Pro’s A15 Bionic. This new chip is an upgrade that the regular iPhone 14 won’t get, which could make the difference between the 14 and 14 Pro bigger than in previous years.

Benchmarks supposedly show that this new chip is about 5% faster overall than the iPhone 13 Pro. This could be because Apple switched to faster LPDDR5 RAM. The same source says this new chip will also affect the iPhone’s camera and help the iPhone 14 Pro’s battery last longer.
Battery
We don’t know much about the batteries in the new iPhone Pro models, but one source says the iPhone 14 Pro will have a bigger battery than the iPhone 13 Pro. The same source says that the iPhone 14 Pro Max could get a small drop from what was in the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
It sounds like bad news for the iPhone 14 Pro Max, but hopefully, it won’t be. First of all, the iPhone 13 Pro Max already had great battery life, so a few milliamp hours less shouldn’t make much of a difference. Also, Apple may have made other changes, like the new chipset, that will make the phone more efficient and make it last as long as or even longer than last year’s model.
No iPhone rumormongers have said anything new about how fast the iPhone 14 series will charge. So, we expect the iPhone 14 Pro to use the same 20W wired and 15W MagSafe wireless charging tech as the iPhone 13 Pro.

iPhone 14 Pro vs. iPhone 13 Pro: Outlook
The change from the iPhone 13 Pro to the iPhone 14 Pro seems to be a big one. The iPhone 14 Pro would be different from its predecessor because of its new notch design, 48MP camera, better chipset, and better always-on display. Read Also; REVIEW: Samsung Galaxy S21 FE vs Apple iPhone 12
The price may go up because of these changes, which doesn’t sound great in this economy. Also, we’re unsure if the hole and notch in the shape of a pill will be more distracting than the current design.
