In a CES 2022 announcement, Intel has finally revealed the full Alder Lake line of desktop CPUs that it will be making. Also, we got a lot of other 65W and 35W CPUs.

The Intel Core i3-12300 is one of the low-powered CPUs on the list that you can now buy. Alder Lake is a group of Core i3 chips made by Intel. There are a lot of different ones. The Intel Core i3-12300 is the only thing that we’re going to look at in this article. We’ll see how it compares to the AMD Ryzen 3 5300G APU.

For people who don’t know, the AMD Ryzen 3 5300G is an APU that is only used by manufacturers. This means that you can’t buy this chip at a store, and it’s only available to partner OEMs for their pre-built machines. Core i3-12300 against Ryzen 3 5300G is still a good match-up, and we think it will help us figure out which is better for your next PC.

Intel Core i3-12300 vs AMD Ryzen 3 5300G: Specifications

To see what each CPU can do, let’s look at its specs:

Integrated GraphicsIntel UHD 730Radeon RX Vega 6 Graphics

There aren’t any E-cores in this version of the Intel Core i5-12600 like there were in the version with no K. Four cores are used to run the Intel Core i3-12300. All four are used for speed. We’re also looking at 8 threads going up against the Ryzen 3 5300G, which has the same specs. While the AMD chip has a faster base clock, the Intel Core i3-12300 has a faster boost clock.

Both CPUs also have built-in graphic’s chips. For the 12300, we’re looking at the Intel UHD 730. For the Ryzen 3 5300G, we’re looking at the RX Vega 6 for the graphics.

In fact, the Corei3-12300 isn’t the first CPU to have this iGPU on it. There was a first time for the Intel UHD Graphics 730 with the Intel Core i5-11400, which was one of the best CPUs of the previous generation. This is what happened. That said, it’s still not clear how well it works with a new chip on a new platform with other compatible parts.

Intel Core i3-12300 vs AMD Ryzen 3 5300G: Performance

Just like some of these other 65W and 35W chips, the Intel Core i3-12300 just came out of the oven. To figure out how well the CPU works, we haven’t been able to test it yet. Then again, we might see the same thing happen here, too.

The Core i3-12300 CPU may be able to use more power than the Ryzen 3 5300G, which isn’t known to reach. Core i3-12300 can use up to 89W of power under load. If you buy the Ryzen 3 5300G, it is known to stay well below its Default TDP value of 65W.

The Core i3-12300 will also be able to use the new features, like PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 memory support. This is what the Core i3-12300 can do with DDR5-4800MT/s and DDR4-3200MT/s. When it comes to integrated graphics, the Radeon RX Vega 6 is known to be very good at what it does, with good numbers all over the place. For the iGPU, it’s also easy to overclock this chip. It can go up to 2.3GHz. Intel has done a good job with the other Alder Lake chips so far, so we won’t be surprised if the 12300 beats the Ryzen 3 5300G in general performance. Add more to the performance section when we get to test the Core i3-12300 CPU, and we’ll write more about that.

Price and Availability

The Ryzen 3 5300G is an OEM-only CPU that you can’t buy on its own at a store. It’s the only way to get your hands on this CPU is to pick up one of the pre-made machines from the partners. In this case, the Intel Core i3-12300 costs $143, which makes it a good choice for a low-cost productivity build. Read more; Battlefield 2042 May Have Even More Updates On The Way

While the general performance of both CPUs could be about the same, the 12300’s wider availability makes it a better choice, even though it’s a little more expensive when you think about things like the cost of the platform.

You get the new Laminar RM1 cooler with the Intel chip, but there are still a lot of other things to think about. Finally, we want you to check out our list of the best AMD CPUs that are on the market now as your options for a new PC build in 2022.
