You may quickly scan paper papers with your phone if you require a digital version of a printed document. You might not know this, but you can quickly capture a digital scan with your phone, convert it to a PDF, and store it in the cloud. We are here to demonstrate how.

Now we’re going to show you have to do it with an Android phone.

How to Scan A Document

Good Lighting is Key

Good lighting is essential for successful scanning, just like it is for taking any type of photo with your phone. Make sure you have a great, open area to take your scan, preferably with plenty of windows and natural light. Read More; How to use Google Assistant to voice shop at Walmart

Instead of holding your phone and the paper together, we advise setting the document you’re trying to scan flat on a table where you can get a good view of it. Then get ready to scan.

How to Scan with Google Drive

We’ve discovered that Google Drive makes document scanning simple. This is practical since you can scan using the Google Drive app and then save the document as a PDF and upload it directly to Google Drive so you can share it with someone else or use it later.

To scan a document with your phone using Google Drive, follow these steps (assuming you have it downloaded first):

  1. Click to open Google Drive on your phone
  2. Click the plus icon on the bottom right of the app and click scan
  3. Take a photo of your document as you normally would anything else
  4. Then click the tick icon when you’re happy with the image

You’ll notice the photo has been automatically turned into a PDF after that is finished. You then have the option to edit it in various ways. If the image doesn’t contain everything you need, you can crop it using the tools at the bottom of the app.

When you click on the three dots in the top right corner, you can switch the settings from black and white to color and alter the image’s orientation. Read Also; How to Recover Your Google/Gmail Account

When you are satisfied, click to save. This will allow you to rename the file and choose where to upload it in your Google Drive folder.

After that is complete, you can easily access it wherever you need it or send it to whoever else needs it.
