Full Job Description
The field service technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining equipment to include IT networking, SD WAN, telecommunications, point of sale, video surveillance, network and telecommunications cabling and other related technologies.
The technician will perform cabling site surveys, create cabling designs, perform Wi-Fi Site surveys utilizing Ekahau site survey tools and generate detailed engineering deliverables for Network and Telecom systems. The technician must follow work plans and cost estimates and must meet required completion deadlines.
Responsibilities:
Perform installations of the above-mentioned infrastructure and equipment.
Identify, monitor, report and resolve network related issues.
Manage multiple projects efficiently with timely reporting of status. Maintain a good relationship with the clients, technical management, and vendor organizations.
Maintain effective communication across project coordinators, team members to ensure early detection of any issues.
Be up to date on the latest technologies to assist customers in the best possible way.
Read installation documentation prior to performing work.
Update documentation as needed.
Must have a good understanding of industry standards.
Provide a safe working environment by maintaining a neat and clean work environment and following the regulations and codes.
Keep an updated inventory and records of all equipment used on site during installations.
The right candidate should have:
High School diploma or GED equivalent
Completion of a postsecondary education program in telecommunications, telecommunications technology, computer science, or a related field.
Proven experience working as a telecommunications and/or IT technician.
Sound knowledge of telecommunications and networking systems.
The ability to interpret technical manuals and schematic designs.
The ability to work well under pressure.
Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
Self-motivated and can work independently at the customer’s establishment or house
Strong computer skills and knowledge of VOIP implementation and management.
A working experience in planning, installing, configuring, and deploying telecom system and services is a must.
Knowledge of enterprise telecom, network analysis, and communication tools.

Availability to work on a changing work environment
Willingness to travel around the US constantly (90%)

Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
