It’s been a long time since Call of Duty: Warzone waved goodbye to Verdansk when COD Vanguard came out in 2021, but now Caldera has become the new home for the game.
Here’s everything you need to know about Vanguard’s tie-in with Warzone at this point in the second season.

When did Warzone Season 2 Reloaded launch?
There were some hints from Raven Software about what the next update for Warzone would be like. It came out on March 23, after a few days.
Make sure to get the patch even if you haven’t played since before the update.
What’s new in Warzone Season 2 Reloaded?
There were a lot of changes made to Warzone’s map Rebirth Island, which is used for some of the game’s less time-consuming and more casual playlists. But there were also a lot of important changes made to the map Caldera as well.
Rebirth Island refresh
There’s been a lot of attention on the Alcatraz-themed island since it came out with Verdansk a few years ago. This is the biggest set of changes that have hit it since then. Many new things have been added to help cover up places like the prison courtyard, which was always very open.
The map’s lighting has also changed a lot, and the decor on the island has been changed to show how powerful Stitch’s Nova 6 gas-making baddies are in the Call of Duty world. Read also; NZXT introduces $800 gaming PC with no dedicated GPU
New weapon – Armaguerra
You can try out a new SMG, the Armaguerra, which is good at close range but also seems to have enough recoil to work at a little farther away. If you want to try it out, you can get it from the ground in both Rebirth and Caldera.
Deployable buy stations
If you want to buy someone back into the game or change your loadout but you don’t have a buy station nearby, you can now get very rare drops that let you spawn in an air-dropped buy station that stays for a few minutes. This is very useful if you don’t have a buy station nearby.
There are two things that make armor satchel and a gas mask different:
A few small changes have been made to gas masks so that you can now drop one for a teammate, and armour satchels now show how many plates they have. This makes it easier to manage your armour once you already have a satchel.
Balance changes
There are a few balance changes to weapons and their attachments, but these changes are small enough that they aren’t causing a big change in the meta at this point. You can read the full patch notes here for more information.
When did Warzone Pacific Season 2 launch?
The last season of Warzone was pushed back a few weeks to give Raven and the other development teams more time to make the next one. Season 2 of Warzone came out on 14 February.
So you can go into Caldera right now and see all the new things and changes.
What’s new in Warzone Pacific Season 2?
People who play Warzone are going to see a lot of big changes this season. You can read all about it on the Call of Duty blog, but we’ve chosen the best parts for you.
New weapons
On the first day of the season, you can get the KG M40 Assault Rifle and the Whitley LMG, both of which have high damage outputs and manageable recoil. There are four new weapons that you can get over the course of the season.
Mid-season, the ice axe will be part of a bundle, and the Armaguerra 43 SMG will also be added.
Nebula V gas
Part of the story of Warzone is that Nebula V gas was found on Caldera, and it will play a big role in the game. The gas field is getting a lot better.
Nebula V Ammo first adds a clip of toxic ammo to your gun. It doesn’t do any extra damage to players, but if you kill them, they’ll be surrounded by a gas cloud that will make it hard for people to revive them, like the circle gas does. It’s even more powerful when you have Nebula V Bombs, which are very rare and can be used to set off a timed explosive to spread the gas around an area for two minutes. This can keep people in a building or keep their flankers out of the way, for example.
Last but not least, the addition of Portable Decontamination Stations makes up for this a little. They let you hide out in either Nebula V or circle gas, giving you time to heal and re-plate your armor before moving on.

Bombers and armored transport
You can only drive the new bomber in Vanguard Royale mode.
There are four people on this plane. It can drop payloads that destroy loadout boxes and do a lot of damage to players and vehicles, so teams might try to take them down with AA Guns and Trucks. The standard planes can also do a lot of damage to bombers, but they’re getting their health pool cut down, which is a good thing.
As well, there are new armored transport trucks that drive on set routes and have machine guns to protect them from other trucks. They’re hard to kill, but they’ll give you a lot of good stuff, like a Nebula V bomb.
New PvE locations
People can play against each other for the first time outside of limited-time modes (or, more accurately, PvPvE). People who play the game will be able to clear out two new types of locations that are guarded by enemy AI. This could let other teams know where they are.
The first is a Chemical Factory, which is near Mines and Docks. It is expanding on a refinery that was already there, so it is called a “chemical factory.” It has patrolling guards, valuable loot, and a trap that can be set by the player. In addition, seven new underground labs have opened up. We’ve seen a lot of hatches and bunker doors around Caldera, so you might already know where they are. Circles on your map will make it easier to see where they are.
As with the other AI soldiers, they are also guarded by squads. But they also have Durable Gas Masks and possible Nebula V Ammo.
Redeploy balloons
You can zipline to a high point and then jump off for a parachute glide hundreds of meters away, giving you a quick way to get away from the gas or get out of a fight. These new balloons were inspired by the books written by Apex Legends and PUBG.
