In terms of its features and how it drives, the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is very similar to the best Tesla cars. It might be a real threat.
The complete list of features for the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq EV has been decided. The electric luxury car will start shipping in a few weeks, which means that more information is coming out about it. The Lyriq doesn’t skimp on luxury, which is what you’d expect from a new Cadillac and a serious competitor in the EV market.

The 2023 Lyriq is a turning point for a company that is known for making luxurious cars with sleek interfaces. Every year, the EV field grows, but there are bound to be some growing pains, especially when traditional car companies try to adapt to the EV market. Almost every car company has tried to make a Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), but people are still waiting for an older brand to come out with a fully-electric car that can steal the spotlight from Tesla, which has become the name most people think of when they think of EVs.
Cadillac’s page for the 2023 Lyriq has a header that says the 2023 model is already sold out and that people should preorder the 2024 model instead. Even though this is silly, the site also shows the main things Cadillac wants people to know about the 2023 Lyriq, which they can’t actually buy. Still, it’s a strong argument and a tantalizing look at the company’s plans for the future. Read More; Tesla Cybertruck 2023 Release Date Announced by Elon Musk
Why The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Stands Out
The 33-inch dashboard panel is the first thing that Cadillac points out about the Lyriq. This huge touchscreen interface goes from the left side of the steering wheel to just past the center console. It has a bold look that will probably become the car’s trademark. This screen runs a customized version of Android, but the system can connect wirelessly to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. For the Lyriq’s interior, the engineering team even talked to a Hollywood production studio that is known for making sci-fi plots and set pieces. Almost every part of the dashboard and steering wheel is either a touch screen or a button that responds to touch.

The Lyriq EV has a feature called “Super Cruise,” which Cadillac calls “the first truly hands-free driver-assistance feature in the industry.” This is a lot like the different versions of Tesla’s Autopilot, and similar features are starting to come standard in EVs. Active noise cancellation, which is usually only found in headphones, is built into the Lyriq’s sound system to try to block out road noise. It has almost every vehicle assistance feature on the market today, such as automatic parallel parking, pedestrian braking, a 360-degree camera, traffic-adaptive cruise control, blind-spot steering correction, and dozens more. The specs for the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq EV are also very good. With a range of 312 miles on a full charge, as estimated by the EPA, and 340 horsepower, which is about the same as a Cadillac, this brings the car’s performance in line with the Tesla Model Y Long Range models. Both cars are also priced about the same, at around $62,000. Even though the Lyriq’s mileage and performance numbers aren’t as good as those of the best EVs, they’re still good enough to put it in the top 5 or so. This could make Cadillac the first traditional American car company to have a serious Tesla competitor on the road.
