One of the largest events in technology is the annual update of the iPhone since it is the phone that most people want to buy, the one that sets trends, and the one that all others are trying to outdo.
Getting complete information on new Apple gadgets is uncommon, even if leaks and rumors are nothing new in the computer world. Although they don’t typically leak as thoroughly as a Samsung or Google phone, we are compiling all the information we have about the 2022 iPhone Pro models right here.
This concludes our knowledge of the iPhone 14 Pro variants to date. We have a special function just for the normal iPhone 14 models, in case you were wondering.

Apple iPhone 14 release date and price
- Possibly 13 September 2022
- From $999/£999?
Apple typically hosts its iPhone event on a Tuesday during the second week of September. Following this trend, the iPhone 13 Pro variants were unveiled on September 14.
If the trend holds, the iPhone 14 Pro versions might be unveiled on September 13, 2022. Naturally, nothing is confirmed yet and won’t be for a while, but this is the day that has recently been rumored. China Covid lockdowns may have disrupted the development timetable for at least one of the iPhone 14 models, but it’s unclear if this will affect the release date or if the delays can be tolerated in the coming months.
We anticipate that the starting prices for the iPhone 14 Pro models will be comparable to those of the iPhone 13 Pro variants. The Pro variants have a starting price of £999/$999.
Design
- All-new design
- Punch hole camera?
- Flush rear
With flat edges and a style more akin to the iPhone 4 and 5 than the rounded edges we had been accustomed to since the iPhone 6, the Apple iPhone 13 Pro models maintained the same design as the iPhone 12 Pro models.
However, rumors exist that the iPhone 14 Pro versions may alter things by switching to a punch-hole front camera. The front camera and Face ID could reportedly be housed beneath the display on the Pro models in a pill-shaped notch. Leaked front panels that display this new design have furthered this theory.
There are also rumors that the projecting rear camera on the current iPhone will be flush with the phone’s back in the upcoming edition. However, a video of several dummy phones doesn’t completely verify this claim, even though the protrusion does appear to have been significantly decreased.
A patent for a phone without a notch was previously filed, but we think we will have to wait and see if this becomes a reality. We spotted a smaller notch at the top of the iPhone 13 Pro models than on prior Face ID phones. Read Also; Pre-Order Apple 13-Inch MacBook Pro Starting June 17
The Pro models should continue to offer higher-end finishes than the basic ones, and there have been rumors that they may switch to scratch-resistant titanium. Another theory holds that titanium was tried, but the final product will have the same components as the iPhone 13 Pro models, although with a purple color choice in place of Sierra Blue.
Displays
- All OLED
- 120Hz refresh rate
- Different sizes
The iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 models’ OLED displays will likely be available on all iPhones in 2022. Like the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, it is also expected that the iPhone 14 Pro models will have an adaptable refresh rate between 10Hz and 120Hz. However, ProMotion technology may also make its way to the standard versions; at least, that is the rumor. For the Pro versions, a 1Hz bottom rate is also being discussed.

According to other rumors, the iPhone 14 Pro models will have an Always On Display that will let you view some information without unlocking your phone, most likely the iOS 16 Home Screen widgets.
The screen sizes of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches, respectively. The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are anticipated to feature the same. However, it has been mentioned that the bezels around the display would be slimmer.
In-display fingerprint sensors may be able to function with Face ID, according to certain rumors, which is a tenable hypothesis. Additionally, rumors exist that the iPhone 14 Pro models may feature taller displays to accommodate the previously mentioned pill-shaped cut-out. Cameras
- Dual camera on standard models
- Triple camera on Pro models
- Front camera upgrade
The triple rear camera arrangement found on the Apple iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, which consists of a primary wide sensor, an ultra-wide sensor, and a telephoto sensor is anticipated to remain in place through 2022.
Although it is still extremely early, there have been a few rumors suggesting that the iPhone 14 Pro models might include a wide-angle camera with a 1/1.3-inch 48MP CMOS image sensor and allow 8K video recording. Additionally, according to rumors, the front cameras of the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max will be upgraded with autofocus and a bigger f/1.9 aperture.
We anticipate that the iPhone 14 Pro models will continue to include an additional lens and additional functions over the iPhone 14 basic models, such as Macro and ProRES. What might change in 2022 is yet unknown, but upgrades over the models from 2021 are probably in store.
Hardware and software
All iPhone 14 models will almost certainly be 5G capable because Apple adopted 5G with all iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 devices.

If Apple sticks to its naming conventions for chipsets, the iPhone 14 Pro versions will probably be powered by the A16 Bionic chip. To distinguish the iPhone 14 Pro versions from the ordinary models, the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max received one additional core for their GPU.
Several rumors claim that the iPhone 14 ordinary models will retain the A15 chip from the iPhone 13 models, while the iPhone 14 Pro models switch to the A16 chip, further departing from the iPhone 13 models’ design.
When Apple held its Worldwide Developer Conference in June 2022, we learned more about iOS 16, which will be the following major software release (WWDC). There are several things to anticipate, one of which is a revamped Lock Screen.
We would anticipate the iPhone 14 Pro models to have the same storage capacities as the iPhone 13 Pro models, which come in 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB options, while it has been rumored that the Pro models may start at 256GB. Also said is that all variants would come with 6GB of RAM.
Though unconfirmed and viewed with some suspicion, it has been reported that the iPhone 14 Pro would have a 3200mAh battery, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max will have a 4323mAh battery. However, rumors claim that quicker charging will be implemented—30W instead of 20W—even if only for the start of the cycle.
On the hardware front, it has been mentioned that in some areas, the iPhone 14 versions may only be available with eSIM.
