From the Echo Show 5 to the Echo Show 15, which features a sizable 15-inch screen that you can mount on a wall, Amazon offers four Alexa-enabled smart displays. There are features on these displays that are not present on Amazon’s other Alexa-enabled products.
Here are some of the best things you can do with the Echo Show, including making video calls, viewing your security camera feed, singing along with songs, and improving your shopping. Even better, a lot of these functions will function on Fire TV devices as well.
For more advice, how-tos, and tips on using Alexa as well as the finest Alexa skills for making the most of your smart speaker, make sure to read our comprehensive guide to using Alexa.
1. Make Video Calls

You can make video calls to other Echo Show owners or to anyone with the Alexa app on their phone by using the camera on the Echo Show. The person you want to call, though, has to be on your list of contacts. You can even “drop in” on other people who have an Echo Show, which some people might find creepy. The third-generation Echo Show 10 can track your face and will turn on its base to move around the room with you. Alexa, Skype, and even Zoom all let you make voice and video calls right now.
2. Watch Movies
Alexa is all you need to get your Echo Show to play movies, trailers, and videos. “Alexa, play the Justice League trailer,” for example. To help you narrow your search, Alexa will show you a few options on the screen. You can then choose one by speaking to it or tapping the screen.

Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, NBC, CBS All Access, HBO, and Starz are all video streaming services that can be used on the Echo Show. There are also skills for Bloomberg, the Food Network, and FX that can be used with Alexa.
3. Security Camera and Video Doorbell

Some of the best video doorbells and home security cameras let you see what they’re seeing on an Echo Show, which is a great feature. You can also hear and talk to the person on the other end by using the Echo Show’s microphone and speakers.
It’s especially helpful if your doorbell rings and you can’t get there right away. This skill works with security cameras and video doorbells from Arlo, Blink, Ring, Nest, and other brands. With widgets that you can change, the Echo Show 15 gives you even more control over smart home devices.
4. Sing Along With Song Lyrics

You can use the Echo Show as your own karaoke machine. If you ask Alexa to play a song, the words will show up on the Show’s screen as the song plays through its stereo speakers. It also works when you listen to an audiobook. 5. Digital Photo Frame

By default, the Echo Show shows random photos in the background. But you can change the background photos in the settings menu to ones you’ve uploaded to Prime Photos or through the Alexa app on your phone. Prime Photos is one of the best places to store and share photos if you have an Amazon Prime account. You can store an unlimited number of photos at full resolution.
6. Look Up Recipes

You can use the Echo Show to help you cook. If you ask it for a recipe, it will show you several options for whatever you want to cook. Then, it will give you a list of ingredients and step-by-step instructions that you can follow by speaking, so you don’t have to touch the screen with your sticky fingers.
7. Find a Restaurant

Don’t feel like cooking? The Echo Show can show you a list of restaurants and their Yelp ratings based on what you ask Alexa. If you choose one of the options, you’ll see the restaurant’s address, phone number, and hours of operation. Read Also; How to get Apple Music on your Amazon Echo
8. View and Edit Your Calendar

Saying “Alexa, show my calendar” will bring up a daily planner that you can scroll through to see what you have going on each day. You can also add events to your calendar with your voice by saying the date, time, and name of the event. When asked, it will also show you the weather for the day and week. Here’s how to link Alexa to your calendar.
9. Baby Monitor

Drop-In is a feature of Alexa that lets you see a live feed from another Echo Show right away. By putting it in your child’s room, you could pop in virtually to make sure everything is OK. Just make sure that only you can use Drop-In on the kid’s Echo Show. On the Echo Show’s screen, you can also see feeds from the Arlo Baby monitor and other devices. 10. Sweat On

If you say, “Alexa, show me workout videos,” it will bring up a list of videos from YouTube, Tubi, and other sites. You can also search for specific trainers using the browser. We like Pamela Reif’s YouTube workouts a lot. But it’s much easier to watch workout videos on the larger screens of the Amazon Echo 10 and Amazon Echo 15 than on the Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 5.
